WinChart has been tailored specifically for Statistical Process Control, with more advanced features available in the Professional version.

Change symbols to highlight certain points

• Recalculate control limits when process changes (or show no limits/mean line)
• Add new data while keeping control limits fixed
• Omit rogue data from calculations while still being drawn
• Text can also be added to the graph with or without adjoining line
• WinChart can also diagnose your control charts, looking for special cause variation

1. zigzagging
2. consecutive points above/below mean line
3. trends
4. points out of control

• Data can be incomplete
• Data values can be shown along the bottom of the chart
• Statistical calculations are shown for each split in the control limits (where appropriate these can be based on the median instead)
• Long comments can be stored with the data (in addition to having text on the graph)
• A dot plot (simple frequency graph) can be shown for the whole graph, or only for the last split
• WinChart can produce control charts for different types of data:

1. Single Measurements (XmR) Charts (with Moving Ranges)
2. Subgroup (X-bar R) Charts
3. Defects Charts for fixed or variable intervals (c-, u- Charts)
4. Defectives Charts for fixed or variable intervals (np-, p- Charts)

WinChart now has the ability to import data from Excel*/Lotus 123*/Access databases - other formats can usually be supported as well on request

WinChart checks automatically if more data has been added! - Other formatting such as labels, symbols, when a data entry is questionable (??? marks), comments, and 'log numbers' for subgroup data (an identifying tag) can also be read.

Excel 95/Lotus 123 97 or later are required for Excel/Lotus 123 files respectively

Print up to 16 charts on a single sheet of paper!

If there are a large number of points then the chart can be displayed in two or more sections for easier viewing without affecting the statistical calculations (e.g. if you had 300 points then the chart could be displayed in 3 parts with 100 points in each).

In WinChart all the calculations are based on Dr Walter Shewhart's original principles, unlike some SPC software!

• These additional features are generally only intended for use by those who know Statistical Process Control well and who will not be tempted to misinterpret or misuse them! WinChart Pro also has these additional control charts:

1. Linear Trend Charts for single measurement data
2. CuSum (Cumulative Sum) Charts

• WinChart Pro can now draw a histogram of the control chart with the option to superimpose a normal curve on it and perform a statistical test for normality (for Subgroup Charts you can draw a histogram of the data as well):
• Capability studies are available for Single Measurement and Subgroup Charts: Cp, Cpk, Z-Factor, and percentage out of tolerance for the process can all be calculated and displayed at the bottom of the chart.
• A Scatter Plot can be drawn for two data sets, and the graphs of multiple data sets can be superimposed upon each other for comparison.
• User defined Reference Lines can be shown on the chart for your own use.
